Defending champions Rajasthan take on Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy 2012 final at Chennai from Jan 19 till Jan 23. It will be experience of Tamil Nadu against the exuberance of Rajasthan that will be on show for the next five days at M.A. Chidambaram stadium.
Rajasthan have Robin Bist, the highest run getter in this season while Tamil Nadu have the second run getter in Abhinav Mukund. Both teams are well served by three pacemen and one specialist spinner being among wickets. Both the finalists are lead by calm men who prefer to let the action on the field do all the talking.
The only edge that Tamil Nadu has apart from the home ground is the team boasts of five players who have represented India in some form of the game. They have been well supported by other players too, especially the left handed middle order batsman R Prasanna who has stepped up on more than one occasion this season when the chips are down.
Overall it promises to be a cracker of a contest between two in form sides this season. Tamil Nadu will look to win the Ranji Trophy title after 1989. If Rajasthan manages to win, they will join Mumbai, Maharashtra,Delhi and Karnataka to successfully defend their Ranji Trophy title.
