Former Queensland fast bowler Joe Dawes will replace Eric Simons as India’s bowling coach after the end of Australian tour. Simons’ contract expires at the end of this current tour down under and it will not be renewed, thereby ending his two year tenure with the Indian team.
Joe Dawes has played 76 first class matches for Queensland between 1997 and 2005, unfortunate to miss out on playing for Australia as he had to wait for his turn behind Australia bowlers Andy Bichel and Michael Kasprowicz. He became bowling coach of South Australia in June 2011 and was also bowling coach of the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League 2011-12.
